On Dec. 17, 1999, Piere’s was jam-packed with rock fans eager to see buzzworthy acts Sevendust, Static-X, and Dope, a show that would leave many with their minds blown and stories to tell.

Who would have thought that more than 20 years later the same lineup would return to town?

Instead of Piere’s, the rockers will be at The Clyde this time around for 98.8FM The Bear’s Growl-O-Ween show on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

For the first time since 1999, the three acts are hitting the road together for a 21-date fall U.S. tour dubbed the Machine Killer Tour.

Co-headliners Static-X and Sevendust will be promoting new albums on the jaunt, Static-X’s Project: Regeneration Vol. 2 and Sevendust’s Truth Killer. Dope is also backing new material with Blood Money Part Zero having been released in February.

The three will be joined that evening by opener Lines of Loyalty

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 16, at 10 a.m. Go to clydetheatre.com, call (800) 514-3849, or visit The Clyde box office or Sweetwater Sound.

Don’t hesitate getting tickets that begin at just $39.50 since this will be mayhem you won’t want to miss!

Chapin family coming to Embassy

Embassy Theatre have announced Harry Chapin at 80: A Retrospective featuring The Chapin Family Live in Concert on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m.

Chapin was one of our most passionate, political, prolific, and inspiring songwriters who was taken from us way too soon in an automobile accident in 1981 at 38 years old. In December 2023, the Long Island native would have turned 80 years old, a milestone his family wants to celebrate.

The performance will include two generations of the Chapin family coming together to bring the songs of Harry to life. His brothers Tom and Steve Chapin, his nieces Abigail and Lily Chapin, and his daughter Jen Chapin are all award-winning musical artists with active careers and multiple recordings. The band also includes Big John Wallace and Howard Fields and together they perform Harry’s classic songs, including “Cat’s in the Cradle,” “Taxi,” “Mr. Tanner,” and “Mail Order Annie.”

Tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.com and the STAR Bank box office at the Embassy.

TRF stays local with musical acts

The Three Rivers Festival is getting closer by the day, and organizers recently announced the musical lineup, opting for acts closer to home than national.

“This year at the Three Rivers Festival, we really wanted to highlight musical talent that we have right here in Fort Wayne and the surrounding area,” TRF Board President John Nichter said. “Our theme this year is United Through the Arts and by focusing on local talent we are promoting and building unity.”

The festival gets underway on Friday, July 7, and the music begins the following night with Good Night Gracie opening for Who’s Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience

On Tuesday, July 11, The Taj Maholics open for The Y’s Guys, followed by Chris Worth, Ty Causey Band, and Music Lover’s Lounge on Thursday, July 13, Off the Edge and Hubie Ashcraft Band on Friday, July 14, and Fort Wayne Funk Orchestra and Sweetwater All Stars closing things out Saturday, July 15.
