The Indiana State Fair just announced the first wave of acts set to hit the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage during the annual festival.

Country legend Clint Black will kick things off on Friday night, July 28, bringing a setlist that will include many of his 22 No. 1 hits. R&B star Keith Sweat stops by Aug. 2, followed by Christian singer TobyMac Aug. 6, and Buddy Guy rips up the stage with his legendary blues chops on Aug. 18.

All Indiana State Fair concerts are included with paid fair admission.

Ohio Fair worth a visit

While we are in state fair territory, the Ohio State Fair in Columbus has a nice lineup of artists set to perform July 26-August 6.

Like in Indiana, Ohioans will welcome in Clint Black and Keith Sweat on July 27 and July 29, respectively.

In between those, Third Eye Blind will perform July 28, with Yung Gravy taking the stage July 30, Casting Crowns on July 31, Ludacris on Aug. 1, Styx and Foghat on Aug. 2, Jeff Dunham on Aug. 4 and Lindsey Stirling on Aug. 5.

Catch Queens of Stone Age

Stoner rock pioneers Queens of the Stone Age have announced a 2023 North American tour for late this summer and early fall.

Their first U.S. outing in five years, they will be out in support of their In Times New Roman …, set for release on June 16.

The first leg of The End Is Nero Tour begins Aug. 3 at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hills in the Detroit suburb of Sterling Heights, the only area date for that leg.

The second leg also starts off in our area with an appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago on Sept. 16 followed by a trip to TCU Amphitheatre in Indianapolis on Sept. 22.

Phantogram and The Armed will provide support at the Detroit show while Viagra Boys and Jehnny Beth will open in Indianapolis.

Kesha visiting our region

Kesha has announced a fall tour in support of her incredible new album, Gag Order

The Gag Order Tour will feature Jake Wesley Rogers as the opening act and make stops at Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit on Nov. 7 and Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on Nov. 9.

Gag Order is Kesha’s fifth studio album and first since 2020. A huge departure from the music that initially made her famous, it seems the artist is finally coming into her own and making the music she really wants to make.

Violent Femmes add shows

Veteran rockers Violent Femmes have added some fall dates to their ongoing tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of their iconic self-titled debut album.

While the spring leg hit venues in the western half of the States, the fall leg will primarily focus on the East Coast and Midwest, including Oct. 5 at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago and Oct. 9 at Temple Live in Cleveland.

Sandwiched between those two dates are two special performances at the DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids, Oct. 6-7, where they will perform with the Grand Rapids Symphony.

As they did on the first leg of the tour, Violent Femmes will be playing their debut LP, featuring classics like “Blister in the Sun,” “Kiss Off,” “Add It Up,” and “Prove My Love,” in its entirety at each show.
