When it comes to listing some of the best voices in music today, David Phelps has to be included in the conversation every time. With a vocal range that extends more than three octaves, Phelps has used his gift to create music as a member of the Gaither Vocal Band for the past fifteen years, receiving numerous Dove Awards and Grammy Awards and selling millions of albums.
In addition to his work with Gaither, Phelps is also an accomplished solo artist, He has released 16 solo albums in all, including five Christmas albums, the latest being It Must Be Christmas, which hit stores shelves last year. He will highlight some of those songs, along with some traditional favorites, when he visits the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert on December 20.
Phelps will draw from his large holiday catalog when he visits the Niswonger, with a wide range of songs that are sure to please all ages. His take on seasonal favorites like “The Little Drummer Boy” and “Tennessee Christmas” are unique while remaining true to the spirit of the originals.
Phelps will also introduce his original favorites, showcasing the vocal talents that have made him famous in songs that were specifically written for him, providing him with the vehicle to convey the emotions of the season in such a way that they become unforgettable.
