Mannheim Steamroller will celebrate the 35th anniversary of their annual Christmas concert tour when the group comes to The Honeywell Center in Wabash for two shows on Dec. 19.

This unique and dynamic group has been putting their spin on Christmas classics since 1984, filling hearts with the joy of the season year after year. Chip Davis, founder and creator of Mannheim Steamroller, formed the group with hopes of filling a void he thought he saw in the music industry. Despite many opinions of “experts” who said it would not work, Davis made a go of it, having now sold more than 40 million albums, 29 million in the Christmas genre.

Davis and company are now a Christmas tradition for many folks and the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas tour is the longest-running consecutive concert tour in history. You could even say that their holiday music has become synonymous with Christmas as their albums return to the seasonal charts every year.

They also have become a television favorite appearing on several national TV programs including The Tonight Show, the Today show, and as a part Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.

This year’s show takes us back to the beginning as it features the 6x platinum selling Mannheim Steamroller Christmas played in its entirely. The fourth best-selling Christmas album of all time, right behind Nat King Cole, Kenny G, and Elvis, the album was just re-released as a special edition vinyl and CD.
