Chicago’s biggest Labor Day weekend party returns this year with more than 100 top house and bass DJs from around the world on seven stages.

The North Coast Music Fest features headliners Marshmello, Zeds Dead, and Flume for the three-day festival along with Alesso, Alison Wonderland, Ganja White Night, Lane 8, Gigantic NGHTMRE, Liquid Stranger, and a plethora of other like-minded artists.

It all happens Sept. 1-3 at SeatGeek Stadium in the Bridgeview suburb.

In addition to the music, North Coast features several “installations” designed to stimulate the senses including Temple of Intention featuring a mirror room, the Incendia Fire Pit, the Rainbow Lounge hammocks, laser-filled Chill Dome for cooling down, NC Yacht Club boat, and the Club Coast speakeasy.

Pop Evil add more shows

More summer headlining dates have been announced for Pop Evil

The trek now includes a stop at the Wetzel Moto Rally near Van Wert on July 28 and Rib Fest in Kalamazoo on Aug. 5.

The band’s latest album, Skeletons, was released in March, containing the single “Eye of the Storm,” which landed at the No. 5 Most Played Song in 2022 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart.

Gorillaz swinging by Chicago

The eclectic group Gorillaz will do their part to end the summer on a good note with a short run of dates in September.

“The Getaway Shows,” their final U.S. dates in support of their latest album Cracker Island, will see the band play stadiums and amphitheaters. Most notably for us is their Sept. 16 visit to Credit Union 1 Amphitheater in Chicago with openers Kaytranada, Lil Yachty, and Remi Wolf

Cracker Island, released in February, is the bands eighth studio album.

Four nights of Freedom music

Freedom Fest Ohio takes place June 22-25 at the Morrow County Fairgrounds in Mt. Gilead, north of Columbus.

Country fans will want to turn out Thursday and Saturday nights with Craig Morgan, Parmalee, and Jess Kellie Adams performing opening night and Justin Moore topping off a night that also features Chris Jansen on Saturday.

Friday night will feature Night Ranger, Jefferson Starship, and everyone’s favorite rocker Bret Michaels. Sunday showcases We the Kingdom and We Are the Messengers.
