Actor, comedian, and writer Damon Wayans Jr.’s sense of comedy came about naturally, no doubt a product of watching his father, comedy legend Damon Wayans.
Wayans Jr. was cast in his dad’s 1994 cult hit Blankman, igniting a flame that as led to pursuing and capturing roles in several other films over the years including The Other Guys, Let’s Be Cops, and even Marmaduke. He has delved into television of late and is probably best known as Coach on Fox’s New Girl and, before that, as Brad Williams in the ABC sitcom Happy Endings.
Proving he has skills to rival his father, he tried his hand at stand-up in a 2008 episode of Def Comedy Jam, garnering a surprise standing ovation, immediately making him a “must-see” stand-up act when he comes to your town as he will do when he stops by the Summit City Comedy Club for five shows, Oct. 5-7.
