Embassy Theatre will remember an integral part of their history when Mark Herman brings to life the music of organist Buddy Nolan.
The Buddy Nolan Memorial Concert on May 4 will celebrate the life of Nolan, the house organist in 1952 when the venue changed from Emboyd Theatre to Embassy Theatre. Remaining at The Embassy until 1972 when the venue’s future came into question, Nolan returned in 1975 to play a benefit show that helped save the theater.
Fort Wayne native Herman, a large contributor to the Embassy’s organ legacy as well, is known around the world for his organ expertise and has developed a reputation for dramatic period-authentic film scores. During the performance, he will share stories and perform some of Nolan’s favorite songs on The Embassy’s, and Nolan’s, beloved Grande Page Pipe Organ.
