After months of hibernating while the pandemic unfolded, The Philmore on Broadway is back with Rock n’ Howl on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m.

Get set to howl the night away with the array of activities including food trucks, spooky cocktails, costume contest, local DJs Danny B and LUBS on the patio, and live music inside by the female-fronted rock spectacle, Whoa, Man!

There will be special prizes for the Spookiest Costume, Funniest Costume, Most Creative Use of a Mask, and a few others. And if you are still a little eerie about venturing out and dealing with crowds, The Philmore will provide a safe and socially distanced atmosphere for their guests and staff so everyone can properly celebrate Halloween. Tickets for Rock n’ Howl are available via Eventbrite.com.

Corn maze, meet cocktails

Here’s an interesting combination: A corn maze and a cocktail. These two can be enjoyed the evening of Saturday, Oct. 10, at Ridenour Acres in Angola. From 8-11:30 p.m., there will be corn maze adventures, a cash bar, food trucks, and live music by Rekt

Of course, this is a 21 and over event and will run you a measly ten bucks. With so much fun in store, you can expect space will be limited, so be sure to guarantee your spot at ridenouracres.com.

It should be noted that any other time, Ridenour Acres is fun for all ages with hayrides, barrel train rides, slides, hamster wheels, corn hole, pumpkin patch, corn maze, and more. Hours of operation are on its website.

Local Band hits detroit

Pete Dio and the Old & Dirty will be packing up the van and heading north to Detroit on Sunday, Oct. 11, for an afternoon performance at the Eastern Market Brewing Company.

This is all part of the brewery’s third birthday celebration that includes live music, a special beer release, and food trucks. The music will take place from 1-3 p.m. Joining Dio will be psychedelic stone blues artist Barstool Brown.
