Foellinger Theatre recently announced that on Friday, Aug. 19, they will open their stage to an evening of Boston and Journey hits.

Sounds like a party, right?

Performing all the Boston classics from the ’70s and ’80s will be Tommy DeCarlo, who has been performing with Boston since 2007.

DeCarlo will be backed by a band of professionals, including guitarist August Zadra (Dennis DeYoung Band), keyboardist/guitarist Walter Ino (Survivor/The Babys), drummer Mike Morales (Dennis DeYoung Band), Tommy DeCarlo Jr., and bassist Payton Velligan

Opening the show with an array of Journey hits will be none other than Rudy Cardenas, who has had a long relationship with Journey’s music since 2007 when he debuted on Season 6 of American Idol, singing “Open Arms.”

Two great shows, all the classic hits, one unforgettable evening!

Tickets are on sale at ticketmaster.com or at the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation office, 705 E State Blvd.

Black Flag vocalist set to take Muse stage

The Muse on Main has announced a haymaker of a show for Saturday, Aug. 27, with Mike Vallely and the Complete Disaster taking the stage.

Hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, these cats not only encapsulate the punk sounds that skateboard legend and vocalist Vallely is well known for, but also play their own original brand of barn-burning, greasy rock n’ roll that spans the genres from jam band to hard rock to metal.

Valley may ring a bell for some of you as he’s the current vocalist for the hardcore punk act Black Flag, which makes this event even cooler.

Perhaps the best description of his Complete Disaster band comes straight from their website: “Mike Valley and The Complete Disaster are a band, arena rockers, and street buskers all rolled up into one tight and powerful bolt of lightning.”

Local acts Deathtax and Disappear will provide opening suppor.

Tickets are only $15 and can be purchased at themuseonmain.com.

Bands featured from on the famous Warped Tour in the 2000s include Blink-182, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Fall Out Boy, Papa Roach, Sum 41, Weezer, and more so it will be interesting to see what Decade Divide pulls out of their sleeve that evening.
