Powers Hamburgers has been sold. Salvatori Hospitality Group and managing partner Alex Richardson purchased the downtown treasure from Michael and Gloria Hall last week.
While the joint at 1402 S. Harrison St. goes through some updates, the new owners have promised not to change the magic.
However, there is at least one difference. On Facebook, Powers announced they will offer late-night hours to coincide with Fort Wayne TinCap games next door.
“Stop by for our mouthwatering sliders and friendly service — because great food doesn’t have a curfew!” the post said. “Tag your game-day crew and make plans to swing by Powers Hamburgers after the next TinCaps game. We can’t wait to be a new part of your game day tradition.”
The next TinCaps homestand begins April 23.
In the fall, the Halls announced they were going to sell the business. The sale would be contingent on the new owner keeping the Powers tradition.
Powers has operated in downtown Fort Wayne nearly 85 years. The Halls took the reins in 1999.
