The Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival has announced Slipknot, Pantera, the original Misfits, Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, and Evanescence among the headliners of the annual hard rock and heavy metal gathering in Columbus, Ohio.

This year’s festival will take place May 16-19 at Crew Stadium and will see no fewer than 120 bands perform during four days of metal madness.

Many of the usual suspects will be there including Breaking Benjamin, In This Moment, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, A Day To Remember, and Falling in Reverse. A reunited Staind will be a nice addition as will a reunited Flyleaf, former Slayer guitarist Kerry King, and the recently resurrected Kittie, who promise new music in 2024.

Basically, just about everyone in the genre will be there, and if you are a fan of the harder side of music, this is the place you will want to be in May.

Tickets are on sale.

Peter Hook plays LPs in full

Peter Hook & The Light are setting out on tour across the world in 2024 with some U.S. dates just announced.

The shows kick off near the end of August, stopping at Riviera Theatre in Chicago on Sept. 7 and Royal Oak Music Theatre in Detroit on Sept. 10.

Throughout the tour, Hook will perform the Substance albums by his former bands Joy Division and New Order in full.

“It still amazes me how enjoyable it is to play the Substance LPs,” Hook said in a statement. “The contrast between Joy Division and New Order is very apparent, but both complement each other very well. My only frustration is not being able to play more of our records each night.

“I am totally looking forward to the next phase. So, let’s enjoy some Substance and get ready for the future.”

Throwback night in Plymouth

Throwback at the Track features headliner Ginuwine with Digital Underground, Color Me Badd, DJ Kool, and Candyman on Aug. 3 at the Plymouth Motor Speedway in Plymouth.

One of the biggest names in music at the tail end of last century, Ginuwine hit it big in 1996 on the strength of his single “Pony,” helping ignite the path to selling more than 10 million albums during his career.

Digital Underground is, of course, most famous for their 1990 hit single “Humpty Dance” and Color Me Badd rose to stardom with hits “I Wanna Sex You Up”, “I Adore Mi Amor” and “All 4 Love.”

It should be a fun night.

New Kids back on the road

While we are on the subject of the ’90s, we might as well mention New Kids on the Block will tour heavily in 2024.

The group will head out on the Magic Summer 2024 Tour, reimagined from their 1990 tour of the same name, to bring their long list of hits to fans craving a bit of nostalgia.

Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood will all appear on the trek that promises nostalgia at every turn.

The tour kicks off at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on June 14, followed by a stop at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Chicago on June 15, Pine Knob Music Theatre outside Detroit on June 18, and Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on June 21 before wrapping up the tour with a show in at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 23 and the finale in at Noblesville’s Ruoff Music Center on Aug. 25.
