The Ole Hitchin’ Post in Larwill will not open for the 2024 season as owner Krissy Ropp embarks on a cancer journey.

A few weeks ago, Ropp announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page that she was battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Since the original announcement, she has learned more about her condition and is receiving aggressive treatment for cancer.

“We will not be opening for regular business this season,” the post reads. “We do plan to have a couple of cook-out menus over Memorial Day and July 4th weekends.”

Ropp said they will also make their facilities and grounds available for parties, reunions, and anniversaries. They will also offer catering.
