Holy smokes, Piere’s have announced that California-based hardcore punk legends Black Flag will be making a stop at the entertainment center on Friday, July 26.

These cats were formed the year I was born, 1976, and have often been called the first American hardcore band. Together, they made music from 1978 until mid-1980s with singers including Keith Morris, Ron Reyes, Dez Cadena, and Henry Rollins.

The 2024 lineup consists of founding guitarist Greg Ginn, singer Mike Valley, bassist Harley Duggan, and drummer Charles Wiley.

Throughout their career, Black Flag have recorded seven studio albums and two live albums, all on their own label, SST Records.

No word on the opening acts, but stay tuned to Whatzup

Tickets available through ticketweb.com and Wooden Nickel.

Faster Pussycat in town May 12

Speaking of Piere’s, they also added sleaze rockers Faster Pussycat to their calendar for the evening of Sunday, May 12.

One thing is for certain, these guys bring it each and every time with their lengthy catalog of in-your-face-rockers, including their most recent single, 2022’s “Like a Ghost.”

You will want to show up early that evening as three local rockers will open the show: Sorry Charlie, Live Wire, and The Dirty Royals. If that’s not enough rock for you, the California power trio Johnny Nasty Boots will hit the stage as well.

All that mayhem for a $25 ticket.
