1990s darlings Counting Crows have announced they are hitting the road this summer on The Banshee Season Tour with friends Dashboard Confessional.
The connection between Counting Crows and Dashboard Confessional goes back two decades when Crows frontman Adam Duritz and the face of Dashboard Confessional, Chris Carrabba, met in 2003 at a benefit show.
The bands now get to spend the summer touring together as they make stops in at TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park in Indianapolis on June 17, Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on June 18, Ravinia Pavilion in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, Illinois, on June 23, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre outside Detroit on June 24, and MGM Northfield Park outside Cleveland on June 29.
Clutch plan rocking shows
A short 12-date summer tour has been announced by Clutch, who will be joined by Dinosaur Jr. and Red Fang.
Neil Fallon and Co. are still supporting their excellent 2022 album Sunrise on Slaughter Beach and will unleash their pure rock fury at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre outside Detroit on July 28, Radius in Chicago on July 29, and Old National Centre in Indianapolis on July 30.
A one-time frequent Fort Wayne visitor, Clutch have not played here in some time. Still, they remain a must-see band since their live show is a high-energy, controlled-chaos type of show with plenty of opportunities to mosh and sing along.
Adding sludge veterans Red Fang and indie rock icons Dinosaur Jr. will lead to an unforgettable night.
Wilco playing in hometown
In support of their 12th studio album, Cruel Country, Wilco have announced a spring tour in North America.
The 21-date tour begins with a three-night stay at Riviera Theatre in the band’s hometown of Chicago on March 23 and March 25-26.
These will be the tour’s only regional stops and the setlist will be completely different for each show with no repeats.
Horsegirl will open all three shows.
Beck plans summer tour
Grammy Award winners Beck and Phoenix will hit the road this summer for a 20-stop tour of North American arenas and amphitheaters.
The Summer Odyssey tour kicks off Aug. 1 in Seattle and includes a stop at Huntington Bank Pavilion outside Chicago on Sept. 2 and Pine Knob Music Theatre outside Detroit the following night.
Sir Chloe will open both shows, while Weyes Blood will also appear at the Detroit show.
Hungry to see Duran Duran?
Newly inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Duran Duran will head out on a 27-date North American tour this spring and summer in support of their most recent album, The Future Past.
In announcing the tour, frontman Simon Le Bon said, “It’s remarkable to me that as a band, we are still hitting new milestones and introducing the sound of DD to new generations of music lovers. We are truly grateful that we get to do what we do on a daily basis and that we still love our job as much as we did when we started out some four decades ago.”
The tour will stop by Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago on Sept. 1, Blossom Music Center outside Cleveland on Sept. 10, and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Sept. 16.
Openers for the shows will be Bastille and Nile Rodgers.
