Although we’re barely halfway through 2023, the Honeywell Center is already mapping out next year’s events with the recent additions of Thunderstruck: America’s AC/DC Tribute on Saturday, Jan 20, and the Little River Band on Friday, Feb. 2.

Perhaps one of their more intriguing bookings is Sons of Mystro on Thursday, Feb. 8. This musical duo plays more than ten genres of popular music, using the violin instead of their voices to express a song’s lyrics.

Born in South Florida to a Jamaican father and Barbadian mother, Malcom and brother Umoja learned to play violin through South Florida’s public school system. They use their violins to interpret reggae classics, American pop songs, and their own creations accompanied by a DJ and drummer. The brothers have performed AC/DC’s “Back in Black” at Miami Heat games and have contributed music to the hit show Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, starring the Kardashian sisters.

The Sons of Mystro show will take place in the Eagles Theatre with tickets available at honeywellarts.org.

Rail invites horror punk band Harley Poe

The Brass Rail have hit a home run with the announcement of the horror punk/folk punk band Harley Poe skulks into town on Friday, Sept. 22, at 9:30 p.m.

Somewhat similar to Violent Femmes, except their lyrics are extremely dark with many references to horror movie subculture. Singing about things like an apocalypse, homicidal revenge, and vampires may seem odd to some, but it’s actually built the band a career of nearly 20 years. They even have a new album being released digitally on July 18 titled Little Joey and the Psychophallic Sex Brain

The Rail show will also feature performances by The Homeless Gospel Choir and Sundogsarah. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of show and can be purchased at Eventbrite.
