We recently let you know about Zach Bryan’s headlining night at The Big House on the campus of the University of Michigan. Well, his college stadium run continues as he has announced a Sept. 6 show at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend.
This will be the fourth concert for Notre Dame Stadium, which hosted Garth Brooks in 2018 and 2022 and Billy Joel also in 2022.
Bryan’s show will include comedian and Notre Dame football fan Shane Gillis and singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy.
Catch Clapton in Cleveland
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Eric Clapton will head out on a brief run of dates that includes a stop at Rocket Arena (formerly Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse) in Cleveland on Sept. 11.
Clapton recently released his 22nd solo album, Meanwhile, featuring six new songs and eight previously released singles. The album includes collaborations with Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, Bradley Walker, Judith Hill, Daniel Santiago, and Simon Climie.
The guitar legend will be joined by special guests The Wallflowers.
Tailgate at Post Malone show
When he is not busy fronting the band that consists of former members of Nirvana, Post Malone fancies himself a country star that used to be a pop/rap star, and may be that again someday.
Regardless of how we would classify him, Post Malone is a big draw in the live concert arena and is planning on enhancing that experience on during spring tour with The Travelin’ Tailgate.
Designed as a parking lot pre-game before his show at each venue, the tailgate is open to the public at no cost and offers “live music, cold brew, exclusive branded merchandise, carnival games, photo opportunities, and tattoos by Posty’s personal tattoo artists from Oxford Circle Tattoos. In addition, one fan will win a 2025 Harley-Davidson motorcycle,” the press release about the tour said.
The Travelin’ Tailgate takes place from noon-6 p.m. on May 18, a few hours before Post Malone takes the stage at Ford Field.
Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell are set to open things up inside the stadium.
Neil Young sets tour dates
Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts have announced dates for the Love Earth World Tour.
The trek takes the iconic singer-songwriter to Pine Knob Music Theatre in Detroit on Aug. 13, Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on Aug. 15, and Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago on Aug. 27.
Following a long hiatus from touring due to the pandemic, Young, 79, returned to the road with a vengeance last year, scheduling a major tour with his band of nearly 50 years, Crazy Horse, last summer. However, after several weeks that tour was canceled due to unspecified health issues, although Young played several dates with the Chrome Hearts in September.
Katy Perry in ‘Lifetimes’ era
Katy Perry is bringing her Lifetimes Tour to Chicago’s United Center on May 12 and Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on Aug. 3.
In a trek somewhat reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s mega-selling Eras Tour, the Lifetimes Tour is a career retrospective for Perry from her little-known track on the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants soundtrack to her breakout hit “I Kissed a Girl” to the track that inspired her tour title, “Lifetimes,” from her 2024 album 143.
“What’s that nostalgia going to look like? Like Disneyland on wheels, as it always is,” the pop star said in a press release to announce the tour. “A feast for the eyes and the ears. We’re giving BPM, we’re giving celebration, we’re giving unity, we’re giving dance.”
