Things are getting even wilder at Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo as Wild Zoo Halloween has returned to celebrate the spooky season — although in a kid-friendly way.

After kicking off Oct. 7-8, the Wild Zoo Halloween continues each Friday and Saturday through Oct. 28. The event includes animal enrichment, treats, and more. Costumes are welcome, but guests 13 years and older may not wear costume masks or hoods. All costumes are subject to the appropriate dress code for the zoo.

Each weekend also has a special theme with Oct. 14-15 being Truck & Tractor, Oct. 21-22 being Pirates and Princesses, and Oct. 28-29 being Witch & Wizard.

You can also take a break each Saturday with an 11 a.m. magic show in the Australian Outback Adventure Plaza.

Wild Zoo Halloween is included in general admission and free with a membership.

Scary movie double feature at 2Toms

The Fort Wayne Silent Book Club will hold a double feature of scary movies based on classic books in the Barrel Room at 2Toms Brewing Company on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The Haunting will play at 2 p.m. Rated G and based off Shirley Jackson’s book The Haunting of Hill House, this story is often considered to be the greatest haunted house tales written. Although it contains no profanity, sex, or violence, it could be psychologically unnerving, and the hosts offer a trigger warning for suicide.

The Shining will follow at 5 p.m. Based on the Stephen King novel, this film is rated R for violence with a strong trigger warning for domestic violence.
