Alicia Pyle has been making music for over two decades and is known throughout the region as a tremendous live performer. Whether she is part of Alicia Pyle Quartet or APQ Harmonic, Pyle has never been one to follow trends, instead choosing to use her unique ability to blend classical, jazz, pop, funk and other genres into her own musical approach.
As part of the jazz fusion group APQ, which also includes Derek Reeves on violin, Brad Kuhns on bass, and Jose Morales on drums, Pyle jazzes up everything from Miles Davis to Pharrell Williams, presenting the tunes in a unique composition and style. APQ also loves the standards and performs them as well as anyone, and it is that music that will be on display when they headline the annual Toys For Tots Holiday Concert at The Cottage Event Center in Roanoke on Dec. 7.
You’ll hear swinging holiday music in the style of Frank Sinatra, Diana Krall, Michael Buble, Dean Martin, and more when you enter the venue located on U.S. 24 at Locust Drive. It’ll be an early start to the evening as doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music begins an hour later.
Of course, food and drink will be available for purchase, making it an evening that will not only be memorable for the music, but will also help benefit a worthy charity organization as well.
