The Center Street Community Theatre heads back to the stage of the Wagon Wheel Theatre in Warsaw to present a revision of Neil Simon’s hugely successful play The Odd Couple. 

The Odd Couple: Female Version, performed March 11-14, sees the original lead characters of Oscar Madison and Felix Unger transformed into Olive Madison and Florence Unger. 

Other familiar things are transformed as well, including the beginning of the play when Ms. Madison invites the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit instead of the poker party of the original. In addition, the Pidgeon sisters of the original play have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers, but the hilarity remains the same, even as the roles are reversed. 

The pair of roommates retain their very different personalities, one who is messy, untidy, and unconcerned about the state of her apartment and the other who is obsessively clean, tidy, and hygienic. Their personalities soon clash and what results pushes their friendship to the limit in a hilarious, fun, and lively telling of a tale that is perfect for anyone looking to push away the winter dreariness and enjoy a night full of laughs.

Of course, all current safety guidelines will be rigidly followed as The Wagon Wheel makes sure they are in compliance to keep everyone as safe as possible. The staff will continue to use social distance seating in every other row and masks are required, but they won’t be enough to muffle your laughs as you take in this sidesplitting reimagination of a classic.
