Sanctus Real are on a mission.
Well, they have been on a mission for more than 20 years, but it is a mission they believe in and one that never really ends. It’s simple; they aim to bring their positive music, great songs, and the Word of God to as many people as they can.
The alternative Christian rock act visit Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert on April 14 for a night full of hits you know by heart as well as a look toward the future when they perform songs from their new album Changed.
The title of the album is also how Sanctus Real describe themselves these days as they begin a new era with a new singer. The band’s longtime frontman Matt Hammitt left for a solo career in 2016; the band replaced him with newbie Dustin Lolli. With Lolli at the helm, the band regained their passion, igniting a new modern sound while remaining focused on writing songs that move people toward an understanding of their identity in Christ.
Noticeably different from the band’s original sound, the focus remains on hope found in an unchanging Savior. While the new songs are certainly influenced by the outward changes in life, the message is centered on how change can bring about personal redemption. In a world that seems to be changing three-fold every day, Sanctus Real hope to slow things down a bit, at least for one night, while they spread some joy through entertainment and share their perspective on life.
