Rodney Carrington wears a lot of hats in addition to his trademark cowboy hat. Best known for his comedy, Carrington is also a singer, songwriter, and actor. He will bring his show of all-new material to the Honeywell Center in Wabash on September 14.

Carrington’s act begins and ends with redneck humor. As with most comedians, Carrington’s material comes from his own life experiences and, guess what, he’s a redneck. A master storyteller and self-identified “good ol’ boy,” Carrington can find an amusing take on about any daily occurrence and is just as likely to write a song about it as well.

Some of his better-known routines include “Country Bar-Mechanical Sheep,” “Wife at Garage Sales,” “Japanese Restaurants,” and, of course, “Walmart.”

A perpetual teenager at heart, Carrington is not above slipping in a fart joke here and there as well as infusing some material that may be considered crass. But that’s what people love about him. Funny is funny and Carrington knows funny.

Carrington is one of the highest-grossing touring comedians of the past decade. His debut album came out in 1998, immediately hitting the Billboard charts and launching him into headliner status. Since then, Carrington has released more than a half dozen albums, starred in his own TV sitcom, filmed a couple of stand-up specials, and continued to tour tirelessly.
