The Summer Nights at the Embassy concert series has become one of the highlights of the summer for music aficionados in the Summit City. Nearly every Wednesday night from June through August, the Embassy Theatre hosts one of Fort Wayne’s premier acts on its ballroom stage and offers the chance for attendees to relax in the two-level venue, interacting with the entertainment while enjoying Fort Wayne’s skyline from the Parkview Health Rooftop Patio.
On August 14, Q and the Coldfusion take the stage for a night of sax-enhanced tunes that jazz and R&B lovers should appreciate.
The Q is saxophonist Quincy Sanders, a local musician who has shared the stage with Lee Lewis of TLC, Alan Parr of the O’Jays, Lance Tolbert from Mariah Carey’s band, and Barbra Streisand’s guitarist George Conner. In addition, Sanders has served as the opening act for Bobby Valentino, the Ohio Players, Babyface, and Swamp Cabbage.
Sanders and the rest of the band — bassist Brian Derek, keyboardist Jim Steele, drummer Mark Vincenti, and percussionist Rick Campodinico — will present new jazzy takes on your favorite classic tunes, pushing boundaries with every note. Think of it as remixes with added soul and funk and without the turntables.
