Jay Owenhouse is one of those performance artists you just have to see to believe, and even then, you might not believe what you see.
Caught by the magic bug at the young age of 4, Owenhouse has practiced thousands upon thousands of hours to hone himself into a master illusionist, eventually being given the opportunity to tour on a regular basis and appear on television shows like Fox’s Magic on the Edge and Masters of Illusion.
He is a multi-talented artist who pulls tricks out of his hat with ease including those involving escape artistry, mentalism, sleight of hand, levitation, and audience interaction.
Even with all of that in his repertoire, Owenhouse is really best known for his work with his famed twin tigers, Shekinah and Sheena, and his versions of illusions originally done by the most famous illusionist of all time, Harry Houdini.
A true innovator in the art of magic, Owenhouse has not only invented magic effects and designed illusions for his own shows, but also for other magicians of world renown.
The Embassy Theatre welcomes this master illusionist back to its historic stage Jan. 24 for an evening of “Family Magic,” where he will lure you into his mysterious world of wonder and, at least for a couple of hours, make you believe the impossible is actually possible.
Oh, and the tigers will be there as well.
