The holidays are a beloved time for most people, and for good reason. Oh, we know there are some Ebenezer Scrooges out there that may need to visit Christmases of the past and future in order to get their mojo back, but for the rest of us it’s a time for parties, delicious seasonal beverages, feasting, gifts, bonding with family and, for many, a time of homecoming.

It is with this in mind that the Purdue Fort Wayne Department of Music presents its annual Home For The Holidays performance. Known for its excellence and attention to detail, the PFW Department of Music has chosen to present some of your favorite holiday tunes on Dec. 3 in the Rhinehart Performance Center on the campus of Purdue Fort Wayne. Featuring the PFW Community Orchestra, University and Chamber Singers, IPFW Choral Union, Singing Dons, and more, audience members will be gifted with renditions of a wide variety of classic and contemporary holiday tunes and, of course, a Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long.

Last year’s show included “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Hallelujah” from Messiah, and selections from The Nutcracker, just to name a few. And, there’s a good bet that if you stay off of the “naughty” list, you just might get to hear conductor David Cooke’s favorite song, Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.” This concert may just become one of your favorite holiday traditions.
