Heads Up! This article is 4 years old.

Look up “true blue country boy” in the dictionary and you’re bound to see Granger Smith’s slim, dark face staring back at you. Born in Dallas, Texas, Smith took up the guitar at 14 and, having taught himself how to play, moved to Nashville a mere five years later to write for EMI Music. His resumé includes a slew of twangy Billboard hits (“Backroad Song” and “If the Boot Fits” just to name a few) as well as a nomination for a best new country artist iHeartRadio Music Award.

Smith’s debut album, Dirt Road Driveway, hit the shelves and airways in 2013, climbing to No. 15 on the U.S. country charts. He followed that up with 2016’s Remington and 2017’s When the Good Guys Win.

A talented singer-songwriter, Smith also has quite the sense of humor. He’s a regular on CBS Sports Network’s Inside College Football where he appears as his alter ego, Earl Dibbles, Jr., in a segment dubbed “Dip ‘Em and Pick ‘Em.”

Smith will take the Clyde Theater stage Saturday, May 19 for a 7:30 p.m. show.
