The Fort Wayne Mad Ants open their twelfth season as part of the NBA’s G-League on November 9 against the Erie Bayhawks at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Looking to improve upon last year’s 29-21 record and fifth place finish in the Eastern Conference, the Mad Ants opened training camp with five returning players as well as three draft picks and a couple of guys assigned to them by their parent team, the Indiana Pacers.
One step away from the NBA, these guys are extremely talented and willing to do whatever it takes to get to the next level. Lucky for us, they’ll play right here in The Fort.
But the on court action is only part of the story. If you’ve ever been to a Mad Ants game, you know the fun begins as soon as you enter the arena. For opening night, the Mad Ants will hand out free magnetic schedules and introduce the 2018 team before tipoff. In addition, fans will have a chance to see the new Coliseum scoreboard in action, watch the talented Madame Ant cheerleaders, the Mad Ant Drummers, and, of course, witness all of the shenanigans the Mad Ant mascot has up his sleeve. In addition, Fort Wayne’s own Christiana Danielle from The Voice will be singing the national anthem.
The atmosphere is always fun at Mad Ants games, but the home opener is always extra special. It’ll be a fun family night for all.
