New Year’s Eve is a night that can mean many things to many people. It’s a chance to look toward the future and what the coming year may have in store for us, it’s a chance to make resolutions that we hope will make our lives better, and it’s a chance to reflect on the past, not only the past year but also the years that came before that one.
If the latter is something you like to do, then “A Classic New Year’s Eve” at Lester’s Banquet Hall on, of course, Dec. 31, is the party you’ll want to attend.
“A Classic New Year’s Eve” promises a chance to “party like it’s 1979” as they bring back two beloved classic Fort Wayne area bands to play a benefit for Invisible Vets. The FBC Band and Tempest will co-headline the celebration that not only includes two bands who used to rule the stages of the Summit City but also includes a buffet dinner, dessert, drinks, and a champagne toast at midnight. The original members of these bands will perform as we celebrate and give back to a local, non-profit organization that provides “hands-on assistance to homeless vets.”
As an added bonus, guest appearances from other local musicians will finish out the night’s entertainment and help ring in the New Year. Tickets are limited. — Chris Hupe
