One of the great things about having an internationally recognized artist like Left Lane Cruiser call Fort Wayne their home is that they are often able to lure other internationally recognized names into town for our enjoyment. One such occasion will be when Scottish alt-blues guitarist Dave Arcari makes a stop at The Ruin, formerly Skeletunes, on October 6.
A former debt collector, Arcari is currently on tour promoting The Live EP, his newest offering showcasing some of his best concert performances. Unfortunately, the album has one flaw: you can’t really get a feel for how great a live performer Arcari really is from that album alone. The only way to attest to his live show is to actually see it in person.
Arcari’s playing has garnered rave reviews from the alt blues community and even prompted fellow alt-blues guitarist Seasick Steve to comment that Arcari “plays like he got his skin turned inside out and pretty soon my skin was inside out too listening and it was all good. That boy bleeds for you – he’s a real down deep player and a soul man.”
And while we’re mentioning acts that leave it all on the stage night after night, Left Lane Cruiser will, of course, open the show. What more can be said about LLC that we haven’t already said a hundred times in this very publication? It’s down-and-dirty blues played by two guys making enough noise to sound like a full band. Oh, and the songs are great, too.
