Mark your calendars for Sunday, Sept. 12, because the ultra-popular “Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown” is back for another edition. 

The event highlights the best of what Fort Wayne has to offer. Participants can visit historic landmarks, buildings, and places of interest for free. Download a passport at visitfortwayne.com and start checking off the locations as you go. Places ranging from the African/African-American Historical Society and Museum to Lincoln Tower to the Visitors Center itself are open. 

You can check out the architecture at the Allen County Courthouse, a National Historic Landmark, and get a rare look behind the scenes at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. 

Enjoy art and artifacts at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Artlink, the Diocesan Museum, and the History Center. Then move on to Science Central, the Foellinger Freimann Botanical Conservatory, and the beautiful sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church. 

Finally, tour The Landing, The Embassy Theatre, the Freemasons Hall, Promenade Park, the Little River Wetlands at Eagle Marsh, and the Allen County Public Library to see what they have to offer.
