The Clyde Theatre has announced that Father John Misty will be rolling into town on Thursday, Sept. 25, amid his tour in support of his sixth studio album, last year’s Mahashmashana

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Tillman is best known by his mystical stage name Father John Misty and for his satirical lyrics and eccentric performance style.

Father John Misty has been a part of several musical acts such as Fleet Foxes, Saxon Shore, and The Avalanches. His music has been described as “folk-influenced indie rock” with a “quirky” lyrical style.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 11, at 10 a.m. at clydetheatre.com, by phone at (800) 514-3849, and in person at The Clyde box office and the Sweetwater concierge desk.

Dweezil Zappa teaches guitar masterclass

On Tuesday, May 6, from 6-8 p.m., Sweetwater Sound will host a Dweezil Zappa Guitar Masterclass.

This is the opportunity to take your guitar improvisational skills into new dimensions with this Grammy-winning guitarist.

Zappa will help you confidently cut loose on creative solos and spontaneously interact with your bandmates during live performances. He will touch on exercises for fretboard domination, building a unique vocabulary, rhythmic variation techniques, visualizing diagonal target notes, and playing ideas in three octaves.

In addition, there will be a special VIP experience where you can meet Zappa and play his father Frank Zappa’s iconic Roxy SG and Les Paul Custom (from the Shut Up n’ Play Yer Guitar album) through Dweezil’s personal guitar rig.
