On Friday, Dec. 13, The Clyde Theatre will welcome American pop rock singer-songwriter, record producer, and pianist Jon McLaughlin as part of his 2024 Holiday Tour. 

Raised in Anderson and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, McLaughlin has released six full-length albums since his 2007 debut, Indiana. He’s even performed with the likes of Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson, and Adele and performed at the Academy Awards. 

Pretty cool for a Hoosier boy. 

Along with the McLaughlin announcement, another show added to The Clyde’s calendar is That Mexican OT (Outta Texas) on Friday, Oct. 25. 

Who dat? 

Well, he just so happens to be a big deal in the hip-hop scene with his bold lyricism and relentless flow. His single “Johnny Dang” with Paul Wall and Drodi off his 2023 album Lonestar Luchador continues to rack up millions of plays across the streaming world.

Whoa, Man!, Funk Orchestra play Huntertown

The 2024 Huntertown Heritage Days Festival is set for Aug. 8-11 at the Huntertown Family Park. 

There will be a whole slew of activities for you and the family to sink your teeth into like fireworks, a parade, a pie-baking contest, car show, foam party, cow plop, bounce houses, cornhole tournament, and so much more. 

And, of course, there will be live music with Whoa, Man! taking the stage from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, followed by another 7-10 p.m. set on Saturday, Aug. 10, from Fort Wayne Funk Orchestra.

Eclectic Room brings rock acts to Angola

The Eclectic Room in Angola has added a few rock shows to their ever-growing lineup. 

Those recent additions include sleaze rockers Faster Pussycat on Wednesday, Aug. 21, the American nu metal band (Hed) P.E. on Sept. 21, guitar genius Richie Kotzen on Oct. 3, and Lynch Mob’s The Final Ride tour on Oct. 5. 

Support acts are yet to be announced except for the Faster Pussycat show which have local acts Snakebite Charlie and Superhawk on the bill.

Pay tribute to performers at Eagles Theatre

Honeywell Arts & Entertainment have announced a few tribute shows that will be coming to Eagles Theatre in Wabash.

Among the shows are Solitary Man: Neil Diamond Tribute on Saturday, Nov. 16, and The Gambler Returns: The Ultimate Kenny Rogers Tribute Show on Friday, Dec. 13. The Rogers show will include hits from his lengthy catalog in addition to Christmas favorites. 

The show that has me intrigued comes on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 17 when they welcome Best Friends Girl: The #1 Cars Experience. Out of all the tributes out there, when do you ever get to see a Cars tribute? This is going to be fun! 

Best Friends Girl are comprised of lifelong, top-notch, professional musicians whose goal is to keep the music of The Cars alive with every performance. “Shake It Up,” “Magic,” “Moving in Stereo,” and “You Might Think”— you know them, now come out and sing along.

CeCe Winans celebrates holiday at Embassy

Multi-Grammy-winning, gospel music legend CeCe Winans will bring her new Christmas tour to Embassy Theatre on Wednesday, Dec. 18. 

The night will include some of Winans’ biggest hits and Christmas classics. 

Special guest for the evening will be American Idol contestant Roman Collins. 

Rejoice and feel the glory of this special time of year.

Catch Vanessa Collier at Baker Street Centre

It’s a bit down the road, but Baker Street Centre has announced acclaimed singer-songwriter and saxophonist Vanessa Collier will grace their stage Friday, Feb. 7.

The Berklee College of Music graduate has released five albums. She has been nominated for 12 Blues Music Awards and has taken hardware home four times, including Horn Player of the Year and Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year.

According to her website, she “weaves funk, soul, rock, and blues into every powerful performance and she is downright impressive.”
