Thanksgiving Eve, also known as Blackout Wednesday or Drinksgiving, is like Christmas morning, but for adults.
It’s the time of year where many folks are kicking off a four-day weekend, college students are home for the holidays, and you’re bracing yourself for football and a feast with the in-laws.
So, why not head to your favorite watering hole Wednesday evening to have a drink and catch up with old friends? Just remember, you still having cooking to do in the morning.
Here are some acts that will be performing Wednesday, Nov. 27:

Davey Heritier takes stage at The Brass Rail
One show I did not mention for Wednesday, Nov. 27, but you will want to have on your radar will take place at The Brass Rail when they welcome to the stage local singer-songwriter Davey AB Heritier.
Many of you know Heritier as owner and operator of Davey’s Delicious Bagels. Now you have the opportunity to see what skills he has on the guitar.
This year, Heritier released a five-song EP, The Whole Time & All the Way Through.
He will be joined that evening by Geez! and Ethan William Bowers at the show that is expected to begin at 10 p.m. with a $8 cover at the door.
Head-banging concert coming to Piere’s
On Sunday, Dec. 15, Piere’s will welcome to town A Horrifying Trip Back to the 2000’s Tour featuring former members of Mushroomhead, Jason “J Mann” Popson, Waylon Reavis, and Rick “Stitch” Thomas, performing the hits “Sun Doesn’t Ride,” “Solitaire Unraveling,” “Bwomp,” and more.
The evening will also include a full headlining set by the Cleveland-based alternative metal act A Killer’s Confession led by former Mushroomhead vocalist Reavis.
Additional acts on the bill are Aaron Nordstrom, who will be doing an acoustic Gemini Syndrome set, Ventana, LYLVC, and Blood of Heroes.
Tickets can be purchased through etix.com and all Wooden Nickel locations.
Proof schedules packed show before closing
As many of you have probably seen, another local establishment is closing its doors.
Proof, formerly known as Welch’s Ale House and Calhoun Street Soups, Salads & Spirits over the years at 1915 S. Calhoun St., recently took to social media to announce they are closing for good.
With the closing of the restaurant also comes the venue in the back room that has housed many great shows over the years whether it being The Tiger Room or more recently The Socialite.
Before they close on Nov. 27, they will have a strong musical lineup on Saturday, Nov. 23, with Kaleb Carter, The Namby Pamby, and Man of the Flood hitting the stage at 8 p.m.
Time will only tell if something moves into the establishment.
Until then, thanks for the memories.
