Tacos, Tequila, and Margarita Fest returns to Headwaters Park on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Along with offerings from Mercadito, El Ranchito, El Chillon, Dos Margaritas, Monterrico, Tropic Chicken, Moe’s Tacos, Itacate, Rico Suave, Grade A Tacos, and Churro Truck, there will also be a variety of tequila options, live entertainment, and two bars. 

The Deck reopens May 14

The Deck, 305 E Superior, St. will open Tuesday, May 14. 

If the weather cooperates, you can enjoy the great outdoors on the banks of the St. Marys River next to Hall’s Gas House.

Celebrate with Club Soda

Just west of The Deck, Club Soda, 235 E Superior St., will be celebrating their 25th anniversary, May 16-18.

The three-day celebration will have live music, great food, and drinks.

Pair of local businesses closing this month

Chimney Cakes and Caffé, 1202 W. Main St., reminds patrons their last day is May 25. 

The bakery remains open noon-6 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sundays until they close.

They will accept catering orders and will update their customers through their social media.

Also closing this month will be Edible Arrangements at 5980 W. Jefferson Blvd., who have been in town since 2008. 

Owners say they will continue to take orders through Mother’s Day but will close May 18. They also say they’ll go out with a bang with giveaways and other promotions through Facebook.

Nab an empanada at Winona Lake market

Empanadas, a staple of Latin culture around the world, are available at The Farmers Market at Winona. 

Taste of Buenos Aires offers breaded treats that come in many forms, including Neapolitan (ham, cheese, and tomato blend), beef, chicken, and vegetables. There’s also the margherita with tomato, basil, and cheese. 

The market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 26 at Miller Sunset Pavilion, 705 Park Ave. However, Taste of Buenos Aires’ empanadas are available only on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

Mission BBQ celebrates service members 

Mission BBQ, 407 Coliseum Blvd. W., has a special mission next week when they salute the Armed Services and veterans with free sandwiches during Armed Forces Week, May 13–17. 

Army Day is Monday, May 13, followed by Marine Day on May 14, Navy Day on May 15, Air Force/Space Force on May 16, and Coast Guard on May 17. Saturday, May 18, includes all branches with Lunch with the Heroes from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
