The genre-defiant jam outfit Umphrey’s McGee will return to Fort Wayne on Wednesday, July 9, for a show at Sweetwater Performance Pavilion at Sweetwater Sound.

The band’s Cruising Altitude tour will see them delivering a lengthy set, drawing from their studio albums and inspired cover choices. They will display why they are considered one of the jam scene’s most technically proficient ensembles. Fusing metal, funk, reggae, and space rock, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.

If that’s not enough for you, Sweetwater also announced they will bring another mind-bending jam band on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 14.

Taking the stage that night will be the groove-based rock band moe. along with special guest Eggy

Treasured by fans, “moe.rons,” for their mesmerizing musical synergy, unfettered showmanship, and smart, resonant songcraft, this impossible-to-categorize band have been pulling in crowds more than 30 years.

moe. recently released their 14th studio album, Circle of Giants

If I had to guess, this is their first time performing in the Summit City — at least that’s what my nearly 50-year-old brain is telling me.

Both shows are general admission and tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.com and sweetwaterpavilion.com, and at the Sweetwater concierge desk.

Clyde Theatre going back to the ’80s

The Clyde Theatre has announced that on Saturday, June 28, they will welcome The 1985 Band

This five-member retro band perform the best pop, rock, new wave, rap, and metal hits of the ’80s. They also have the lights, videos, and costumes to go along with making it a totally ’80s experience.

The band features female and male lead vocals, tight harmonies, guitars, and synthesizers. You can expect to hear the music of A-ha, Journey, The B-52’s, The Go-Go’s, Prince, Cyndi Lauper, and Bryan Adams. You name it, they play it. Heck, you might as well throw on your ’80s outfit while you’re at it!

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 21, at clydetheatre.com, by phone at (800) 514-3849, and in person at The Clyde box office and Sweetwater concierge desk.
