Some of your favorite music from the ’90s will be on display as Stone Temple Pilots and Live co-headline a summer tour that kicks off Aug. 16.
The Jubilee Tour works its way east, hitting Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls in Ohio on Sept. 10, Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago on Sept. 11, and Sept. 15 at Noblesville’s Ruoff Music Center.
The tour will celebrate the 30th anniversaries of the headliners’ classic 1994 albums: Stone Temple Pilots’ Purple and Live’s Throwing Copper.
Soul Asylum will provide support for the duration of the run, adding their own catalog of hits to the lineup.
Jelly Roll headlines festival
If you start in northeast Indiana and head northeast on Interstate 69 about three hours, you will eventually find yourself near Midland, Michigan, and the chance to take in Tailgates N’ Tallboys Festival on July 26-27.
The country music festival will feature Jelly Roll as the headlining act (because it seems like he gets all of those these days) along with Quinn XCII, Jessie Murph, Alexandra Kay, Warren Zeiders, Matt Hansen, and about a dozen others.
South Bend fest to be loud
South Bend’s annual Big Growl will be held May 4 at Four Winds Field.
It will be an event celebrating rock from the early part of this century as Seether serves as headliner with support from Saliva, Fuel, Saint Asonia, and current Breaking Benjamin and former Adelita’s Way guitarist Keith Wallen.
Seether will be out for the better part of this summer celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Disclaimer II, which yielded the big hit “Broken” and sold more than a million copies in the U.S.
Night Ranger in Plymouth
Night Ranger will headline a night of 1980s hard rock at Plymouth Motor Speedway on Aug. 3.
As energetic as ever, Night Ranger never disappoint. Any time they come near our area, fans know they will get a dynamite show filled with hits.
To add to the evening, Jackyl will be on hand to provide their unique brand of rock after Firehouse and Enuff Z’ Nuff warm things up for the night.
Kings of Leon support album
Kings of Leon will hit the road this summer with the Can We Please Have Fun Tour.
Just two dates in our region are scheduled with a Sept. 14 stop at Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati followed by a Sept. 28 date at Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago.
Along with the tour announcement is news the band has signed with Capitol Records, with the release of the band’s Can We Please Have Fun coming May 10.
Last chance to see ELO
Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Lynne will be taking Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Electric Light Orchestra on the road in late summer.
Jeff Lynne’s ELO will stop at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Sept. 7. If you’re fine with traveling a little farther, the tour hits Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati on Sept. 13, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Sept. 14, United Center in Chicago on Sept. 27, and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Oct. 9. The Over and Out Tour is billed as ELO’s final tour.
As they continue to support their 2022 album From Out of Nowhere, you’re sure to hear some of the band’s standards like “Mr. Blue Sky,” “Evil Woman,” “Don’t Bring Me Down,” and “Livin’ Thing.”
