Sting will return to the road this fall for a new North American tour. Dubbed Sting 3.0, the trek will see the former Police frontman joined by guitarist and longtime collaborator Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas as he performs “the most electrifying hits from his timeless discography.”

The tour will feature multiple nights at venues, kicking off Sept. 17-18 at The Fillmore in Detroit. The tour spends four nights at Auditorium Theatre in Chicago between Oct. 28 and Nov. 2.

Sting initially kicked off the tour in Europe over the summer with a setlist that has included a mix of greatest hits and deep cuts, including rare live performances of The Police’s “Voices Inside My Head,” “Synchronicity II,” and “Driven to Tears,” as well as his own solo songs “Never Coming Home,” and “When the Angels Fall.”

Carey brings holiday cheer

The Queen of Christmas and best-selling female artist of all time will bring the holiday cheer to 20 American cities this winter.

Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time celebrates the 30th anniversary of Carey’s album Merry Christmas and its seasonal hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

If you are interested, there is unfortunately only one show scheduled for our region: Nov. 27 at Allstate Arena in Chicago.

If you can’t make that show, rest assured, you will likely be able to hear the songs everywhere you go during the Christmas season.

4 days of music in Royal Oak

The annual Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats, and Eats returns Labor Day weekend, kicking off Aug. 30 and running through Sept. 2 in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak.

Notable artists set to play include rock bands Tesla, Cheap Trick, Chevelle, and Gin Blossoms, along with R&B singer Keith Sweat, country singer Dustin Lynch, and the Pop 2000 Tour.

The annual event will feature more than 200 live performances on nine stages over four days.

“Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats, & Eats is the ultimate summer finale, a beloved tradition for many as summer draws to a close,” a press release said.

Also expect a Juried Fine Art Show that draws more than 300,000 people each year and food vendors from around the state and country offering just about anything you could possibly crave.

Chance to see King Diamond

Danish musician King Diamond will hit the road across North America for the first time since 2019 for the Saint Lucifer’s Hospital 1920 tour.

The former Mercyful Fate frontman will be joined by black metal artist Myrkur for backing vocals and organ throughout the tour while all shows will be opened by Overkill and Night Demon

“This is Saint Lucifer’s Hospital, enter if you dare! We have been busy putting this ever-growing horror story together, and it’s still growing,” King Diamond said of the tour. “I know the end of it, but how we will get there will be a long trip. There are so many characters, and so many unexpected things along this journey. It’s a crazy family on another timeline in 1920, where I experienced some hard times, and they have to come to our time to steal from us to survive. This is the most elaborate thing we have ever done, that goes for the stage production as well.”

This “must-see” tour will stop at Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati on Oct. 18, Old National Centre in Indianapolis on Oct. 22, Masonic Temple in Detroit on Nov. 4, Agora Theatre in Cleveland on Nov. 6, and The Chicago Theatre in Chicago on Nov. 7.
