Wrigley Field Bar & Grill have hit themselves a home run with the recent booking of the Rumpke Mountain Boys on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. You heard correct: the Cincinnati band returns to give us Fort Wayners a good ole dose of “trashgrass,” a phenomenal mixture of songwriting, fiery-fast mandolin, banjo, acoustic guitar, and upright bass.

If you’re looking for a wild, foot-stompin’ times, the Rumpke Mountain Boys are the band for you. Can’t wait to see how they utilize the big stage at Wrigley that evening.

Speaking of stages, the band will be sharing it with Phil Schurger’s Phil Plays Dead, so make sure to show up on time.

Swing by the bar at in the Georgetown North at 6527 E. State Blvd. to get your tickets for $10. They will be $15 the day of the show.

Baker Street books Classic Seger

With a career spanning more than 50 years, 75 million records sold worldwide, and an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, there’s no denying that Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band are one of the greats of all time.

Although Seger’s last live performance was in 2019, tribute acts such as Classic Seger keep the raspy voice and timeless classics going strong.

The nine-piece Classic Seger are based out of southwestern Ontario and capture the pure rock n’ roll spirit that can be found only at a Seger concert.

You can find out for yourself when Classic Seger roll into town Saturday, March 23, for a performance at Baker Street Centre.

Now, I don’t know too many people who can’t sing along to songs like “Night Moves,” “Turn the Page,” and “Old Time Rock and Roll,” so there’s really no excuse to not show up for this one of a kind experience. After all, you owe it to yourself for a night on the town and take in one heck of a rock show to boot.

General admission and Gold Circle tickets for Classic Seger are on sale at bakerstreetcentre.com and all three Wooden Nickel locations.

Mick Bowie & Rolling Spiders release video

A few issues ago, I gave heads up that the local Rolling Stones/David Bowie tribute act Mick Bowie and The Rolling Spiders were shooting a live promo video at Piere’s. Those of you in attendance got a first glimpse of this well-oiled machine that hopefully we see more of in 2024.

If you didn’t make it, they just released a four-minute video from that evening at Piere’s that can be viewed on YouTube.

The Brass Rail brings in Ike Reilly

If you saw them at the 2022 edition of Middle Waves at Foellinger Theatre, you know Ike Reilly & The Assassination can throw a party.

During that performance, Reilly also joked about swinging by The Brass Rail later that night to perform an impromptu show. Well, that was all in jest. However, that performance will become a reality on Thursday, Feb. 22.

That’s right, the Chicago-based band will bring their “pure-styled rock n’ roll” to the Broadway dive bar for a performance you will not soon forget.

Presale tickets are available for $13 through The Brass Rail’s Facebook page. Or, if you’re feeling lucky, you can get your ticket the night of the show for $15.
