Waynedale
Memorial Day is more than just the official start of summer. It is a chance to honor those who gave their lives for our country and freedom.
The Waynedale Memorial Day Parade offers a great way to honor those people while having a memorable time in the process.
The parade begins at the Waynedale United Methodist Church at 9 a.m, heads north on Old Trail Road, and ends at Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Featuring local high school marching bands, businesses, political figures, emergency responders with sirens and horns blaring, and various other community organizations, this annual event not only serves as a poignant tribute to the sacrifices of veterans but also brings together locals in a vibrant celebration of community spirit.

The Memorial Day weekend is a time for remembrance. To aid in that endeavor, Fort Wayne’s annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 27.
The parade route begins on East State Boulevard near North Side High School at 11 a.m., continues north on Parnell Avenue, and finishes at Memorial Coliseum.
A ceremony with various officials and military veterans attending takes place immediately after the parade. During the ceremony, wreaths will be placed honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
A rendition of “Taps” is set to finish out the morning’s activities.
