Though she tragically died at the young age of 27, the singer undeniably made a huge impact on music during her short time in the limelight. With renditions of hits “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Cry Baby,” “Down on Me,” “Ball and Chain” and, of course, “Piece of My Heart,” Joplin became a distinctive voice in rock, making enough of an impact that she was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
So, put on your rose-colored glasses and dust off your best ’60s garb and head to The Club Room at The Clyde on Jan. 19 to celebrate with music guests Whoa, Man! on what would have been Joplin’s 81st birthday.
