Help pay tribute and show gratitude to all who have served our country at the annual Veteran’s Day Parade and Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m., prior to the actual Nov. 11 federal holiday.
The parade starts at Bob Arnold North Side Park and travels north on Parnell Avenue to Memorial Coliseum Veterans Plaza. If the weather cooperates, the ceremony will be in the plaza, but if it doesn’t, festivities will be moved inside to Memorial Hall for placement of wreaths, playing of Taps, and remembrance of fallen brothers- and sisters-in-arms.
This year’s parade theme honors Purple Heart recipients. The Purple Heart is awarded for being wounded or killed in any action against an enemy of the United States.
