A baseball journey that began in April comes to a close this weekend as the Fort Wayne TinCaps wrap up their 2023 home season.

Although they will have a six-game series against the Dragons in Dayton, Ohio, from Sept. 5-10, your last shot to see them at Parkview Field will be Aug. 31-Sept. 3 against the South Bend Cubs, the Chicago Cubs High-A affiliate.

Along with watching the TinCaps battle for a spot in the postseason, the games Friday-Sunday will conclude with fireworks.

The Aug. 31 game will be Grateful Dead Night with live music by local band Grateful Groove beforehand.

Also, the Sept. 2 game will be ’Caps Against Cancer. The players will wear special jerseys that will be sold in an auction with proceeds going to the Parkview Foundation’s Transformative Cancer Care Fund.

The design for the orange “Resilience” jerseys was inspired the artwork by former Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute patient Ric Trimble, who passed away in February.
