Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts showcases some of the best talent in the country, producing Broadway-quality shows in the heart of middle America.
The Sound of Music is the latest in that line of shows, with the final weekend of shows scheduled for Dec. 16-18.
The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein, the five-time Tony-winning show tells the inspirational story of the von Trapp family just prior to World War II. Many songs from the musical have become standards, including “Edelweiss,” “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Do-Re-Mi,” and the title song “The Sound of Music.”
The play has been enjoyed by multiple generations and is often in the conversation as one of the greatest musicals of all time.
