Alt-country legend Steve Earle is bringing his Alone Again Tour: Solo+Acoustic to Eagles Theatre in Wabash on Thursday, Aug. 17, with Ben Chapman.
A protege of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Earle became a master storyteller in his own right, with songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, and the Pretenders.
In 1986, Earle relleased his debut album, Guitar Town, which shot to No. 1 on the country charts and is considered a classic of the Americana genre. Subsequent releases The Revolution Starts Now in 2004, Washington Square Serenade in 2007, and Townes in 2009 received Grammy Awards.
