For those who like to brave the elements and show off a bit of mental toughness at the same time, the Special Olympics Polar Plunge may be the event you will want to attend.

Organizers of the event invite all members of the community to “Be bold. Get cold!” at Metea County Park, west of Leo-Cedarville on State Road 1.

Brave the elements and take an dip in the park’s frigid water Saturday, Feb. 8, and check off a box on your personal bucket list or simply help a great cause with some unique fundraising.

Regardless of your motivation, prizes will be given to the top fundraiser and to winners of a costume contest.

A post-event celebration will be held afterward at the Metea County Park Nature Center. Entry fee is raising a minimum of $99.
