The iconic tale of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka is told by the young actors of Fire & Light Productions through four performances on Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 8-10, at the University of Saint Francis Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center in downtown Fort Wayne.
The story, adapted from the book written by Roald Dahl, follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his candy bars. Whoever comes up with these tickets wins a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. The children tour the factory, all the while learning to follow Wonka’s rules in the factory or suffer the consequences.
Fire & Light Academy educates youths ages 8-18 in all aspects of theater arts, including set design, painting and construction, sound and light facilitation, music, stage movement and direction, and leadership skills.
