The Indiana Arts Commission announced in late January that Curtis L. Crisler, a professor of English at Purdue University Fort Wayne, had been appointed Indiana Poet Laureate, a prestigious post representing the Hoosier state and the art of poetry to the education community and public.
To celebrate, Hyde Brothers Booksellers, 1428 N. Wells St., will host a reception Saturday, Feb. 24, from 5-7 p.m.
The event will include a reading by Crisler featuring selections from his extensive body of work, including his latest book of poetry, Doing Drive-Bys on How To Find Love in the Midwest.
Light refreshments will be provided.
