Bad Brains are one of the great pioneers of heavy music, having influenced a number of bands who would eventually become better known, including Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, and Guns N’ Roses.

Their hardcore punk style helped give birth to a number of sub-genres of rock including thrash, alternative, and rap metal. So when a member of that band plans to visit Fort Wayne, the city should take notice.

Frontman HR will take the stage at The Ruin on Friday, Aug. 19, to play some of his band’s ground-breaking material and, likely, a few covers that influenced him, as well as some solo material.

Regardless of the setlist, it is sure to be a rare, amazing night spent with a music legend in an intimate venue.

Unlikely Alibi and The Sungate Trio will open the show.
