The Grabill Country Fair is Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 8-10, in Grabill, just a few miles northeast of Fort Wayne.
Attracting as many as 100,000 visitors for the weekend, the fair is often recognized as one of the most popular fall festivals in the area, highlighting the area’s Amish heritage while offering a unique festival experience.
The country-style fair encompasses the streets of Grabill and features more than 100 craft booths selling everything from needlepoint to blown glass objects to handcrafted wood with a variety of uses.
Children’s activities include old-fashioned contests like frog jumping, a baby crawl, jumping rope, apple peeling, watermelon eating, and cherry pit spitting.
Men can enter nail driving or cross-cut sawing contests and women can enter apple pie baking.
Don’t forget to stop and get some apple dumplings before you leave. You’ll be glad you did.
