“Remembering George,” a tribute for guitarist George Ogg, will be at Joseph Decuis Farm in Columbia City on Sunday, April 16, from 3-6 p.m.
Ogg was a beloved member of the Fort Wayne music community for decades before dying of cancer in 2011. This event aims to carry on his legacy and inspire the next generation by raising funds for his family’s chosen charity, the Mockingbird Foundation. It’s a nonprofit helping fund music opportunities for children, simultaneously bringing together two things that Ogg loved: music and kids.
The afternoon will have music by Eric Clancy, Kevin Piekarski, Ken Jehle, and more of Fort Wayne’s finest musicians, along with personal tributes and stories about Ogg’s life.
Hors d’oeuvres will be available by pre-order and a cash bar from Joseph Decuis will be on site.
It will be a splendid opportunity to enjoy a Sunday afternoon filled with music and love for a local legend.
