The first 2025 Full Moon Hike at Fox Island County Park in southwest Fort Wayne takes place on Monday, Jan. 13.

The 605-acre Allen County park is the perfect place to take in the lunar phase that reflects the most light from the sun, resulting in a magnificent view of Earth’s permanent natural satellite.

Dubbed the Wolf Moon, the January full moon moniker comes from the sound of wolves howling during this season.

If you miss this offering or just want to do it again, other hikes are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 12; Friday, March 14; Saturday, April 12; Monday, May 12; and Wednesday, June 11.

This event is free with a $3 paid park admission. The group meets at the nature center, and you may reserve your spot by sending a message through the park’s Facebook page or calling (260) 449-3180.
